You had heard countless stories from Fred as to how over-the-top Christmas at the burrow happened to be. He had often described it as a ‘magical experience, no pun intended.’ Though you never underestimated or doubted it, somehow Molly’s extravagant decorations still seemed to exceed your expectations. 

A large tree, filled with twinkling lights and glistening ornaments, sat near the fireplace in the sitting room. At this time yesterday, a few gifts had been wrapped neatly — quite possibly done with magic — and stowed underneath on the fuzzy tree rug. Now, after the gifts had all been opened that morning, scattered bows and ribbons littered the surrounding area. A mess for tomorrow, probably. The excitement really had been all about the gifts. 

You sneaked a quick look down to the sweater that you were currently donning; the one that Fred promised you his mother would make as a present. And he had been correct indeed. Molly had knitted you the loveliest jumper, accented with your initials on the front. Somehow, she managed to make it Christmassy while also using your favourite colours. It really felt like a gift welcoming you into the family, and you’d be quite happy keeping it on forever, honestly. But that only meant you wouldn’t get to wear Fred’s. And that would honestly be a shame — even he had to admit that.
