hi everybody.

today’s been a whirlwind on tumblr. i’m feeling a lot at the moment – confusion, anger, heartbreak, gratefulness. i’m sort of all over the place.

for those of you who know, i apologize for the redundant rant. for those of you who don’t – today, upwards of 20 or so tumblr writers have found out that our writing has been taken without our permission or consent and posted to wattpad. while our usernames were posted with credit on some of them, the outcome remains the same: we were never asked. we never gave permission. we never gave our consent.

this statement goes for not just writers, but ALL artists. we share our work with you because we want too. because we love the fandom. because we love doing what we do. we do NOT share our work to be exploited in the way we were today, and to those who took advantage of our generosity – i sincerely hope you realize how fucking messed up it is what you did.

i want to make something very, very, very clear –

i do NOT give ANYONE permission to post any of my writing on wattpad, or any other platform.

i don’t care if you don’t consider it stealing because you “gave me credit” or “put my name at the top”. it is stealing. it is plagiarism. and i am heartbroken.

i have been crying for the better half of the day, seeing MY stories and SO MANY of my friends stories shared on platforms that are not theirs, for MONTHS – and we had no fucking idea. it’s absolutely heart wrenching.

to those of you who are loyal readers and rebloggers and commenters – i see you. thank you SO. DANG. MUCH. for your unwavering support, for your ability to inspire me when i don’t feel inspired, and to lift me up when i feel like my writing is crummy. i cannot express my gratitude enough for each and every single one of you. you are the reason that i write.

to my fellow writers and artists who are feeling a lot today – i stand with you. together we will solve this problem and stop the exploitation of our stories we have worked so hard on. together, we will keep one another up with smiles on our faces. i love you all so much. sending you guys so much love 💕
